Hi Heavenly Blossoms Readers!!!

I'm Christine and I blog over at The D.I.Y. Dreamer!!
I'm so VERY HAPPY to be here... Jennifer told me that you are an amazing bunch!

If you have been over at The D.I.Y Dreamer before, you already know that lately I have been obsessed (I know.. a strong word but it's true) with earrings!!  I just can't stop making them... I'm lucky that my daughters love them too!

I'm here today to share with you a super easy tutorial!
How to make ''Cute as a Button'' Earrings!!

 Aren't they sweet?

I saw these little guys at the store and I just HAD to buy them!

Supplies:

- Flat disc stud posts (Dollar Store)

- Little Mini Buttons

- Earring backs (Dollar Store)

- Krazy Glue

Step 1:

Take out your supplies.

Step 2:

Apply Krazy Glue to the back of the buttons and on the flat disc stud posts.  Glue them together.

BE VERY CAREFUL when applying the Krazy Glue.. I glued my fingers
together hehe OUPS!  I will probably not use Krazy Glue again. hehe

Step 3:

ENJOY your beautiful earrings!!

Here's my Gabrielle who's VERY happy with the cute little button earrings:

If ever you do create these earrings or anything...
make sure to link up your creations at my linky party
''From Dream To Reality'' on Wednesdays!

Thanks for having me!

It's my very 1st Linky Party! Share your Faves & Finds!

WELCOME TO MY VERY FIRST LINKY PARTY!!!

I am really excited about this, I can't wait to see what you all have to share!
Next Friday I hope to highlight my favorites of the Faves and Finds!

Since it's my first link party I didn't want to be crazy specific. I mean really, is it possible to do a linky party solely (no pun intended) on pastel ballet flats?
.....yeah, I didn't think so....(as much as I had wished it would be)

This is just a nice, easygoing, social link up party where you share your Favorites, and Finds.....or even Favorite Finds! It can be anything from garage sale dresser you repurposed to the meal that makes your mouth water, to your favorite family moments!

I just ask to be friendly and courteous and when you share your link please click and check out at least three of the others that share with you!

Here's my Fave for this Friday!!!

So this week I got to have a little fun with shoe shopping without the risk of spending a penny! I linked up with Absolute Mommy and Mom2MemphisandRuby, for  Tuesday Ten on shoes here.

Well I came across the most ADORABLE flats for Easter.

via
I am big on flats because well let me be real with you, I am not a tiny woman!!! Heels really don't help.  Anyhow, with the great trend of pastels I instantly started picturing the possible outfits!!!

So with that I was inspired to make my first Inspira-style board!

Fresh Pastel via
If you are interested in any of these items I did my best to label each one. They are all on my Easter Wear Pinterest Board here in case you love this as much as I do and wanna do a repin!

**The shoes I am still on the prowl for, I can't find them anywhere, so hopefully I can update that soon**

So what do you think of the latest pastel trend? Do you like it paired with the color blocking trend?

Well that's all from me, as far as I know there is only ONE fashionista in this house and its THIS little diva!

Gosh, she makes my heart melt!

I would love it if you grabbed a button for the post you are linking up today!!! Thanks Mucho!!!!

Today I am linking up with Mom 2 Memphis and Ruby and Absolute Mommy who if you remember are also contributing to the amazing giveaway!!! They are both awesome if you don't know these ladies I suggest you make a quick hop skip and a jump after your finished here!
Anyhow, they are co-hosting Tuesday Top Tens, and this week's Theme is SHOES!!! Oh yeah, shoes...what girl doesn't love shoes!!

So here are mine!

NUMERO UNO (1)
This is my goto shoe. It's comfy, and pretty much go together with anything and can remain casual, but its my favorite for a pair of cropped jeans, a hoodie and a blanket for the beach ;)
via

DOS (2)
LK Bennets, so classy and easy to coordinate. Nude pumps are fantastic for elongating the leg!!! I would love to have a pair as I hear that they are really comfortable, I have a knockoff pair that are a weird fit and my feet slip....they look great for casual or special occasion, but man, pain is all I think about!

via

TRES (3)
My ultimate goto "shoe". Yes everyone, this is it.  I have about ten of these and while they look presentable I coordinate them with all of my outfits. Especially with the weather we have been having in New Jersey! When they get bad they make for great  house slippers!!! :)

via

The next seven will be fantasy shoes for me!
CUATRO (4)
Yes I  know they are little!! These are my top ten but not necessarily for me! lol I saw these and jus fell in love!! My daughter has such beautiful skin and I think she would look SO DARLING with these goldies on her tootsies!!! Hello Point Pleasant Boardwalk!!! :)
via

CINCO (5)
OK, are you guys sensing a theme here??? I am guilty of having LOTS of neutrals!!! So it's no mistake that  I love the nudes!!! I like that these have a lacy look and the bow just makes it so dainty!! Very nice!
via

SEIS (6)
These are by Chloe, a major designer and yes WAYYYYYY outta my budget!!! Besides I don't know about you, but Im in Thick Legs Club and I might as well be President of the Cankles Club, so most riding boots or ANY over the ankle shoe are usually just a dream! (So close yet so farrrr!!!)
via

SIETE (7)
LOOK ITS  A POP of COLOR!;)  Teal, aquamarines (just so happens to be my birth stone) and the like have really been grabbing my attention this year, and these blue vans are so dreamy! Gotta snag these!
via

OCHO (8)
Here we go!!! Yellow! I am starting to feel proud of myself for finding all these cute colors!
Another pair of cutesie toddler shoes, those ruffles are just soooo ADORABLE!!! And I love the keyhole cutouts :)
via

I just had to include another angle!

NUEVE (9)
I need shoes for Easter at my church,  I know that pastels are VERY in for spring, and flats do me well since I am TALL, like 5'7" tall....heels just don't look or feel right at church for me, ESPECIALLY when you have a spider monkey  toddler clinging on your for dear life! I would love to pair this with a nice pastel pair of skinny jeans and a flowy blouse! HMMM maybe I will do an inspiration board for this one!
via

DIEZ (10)
Because, who wears their high heels through the WHOLE reception?? :) These are so pretty, I LOOOOVE the embellishments on the toes!!!
via

Well thats my Tuesday Top Ten for SHOES!!!!! I love it and it was so much fun!!! What girl doesn't love shoes???? Now I have several potentials for my closet :), do you too?

Makeup/Personal Hygiene Clutch custom made for a teenager!

So today was Daddy and daughter day....So I had a minimum of six hours to get everything ready for the clutch I was making for my friend Vicki's daughter! It's her daughter's birthday this week and she asked if I could make her a cute makeup clutch for her daughter! Of course!

Vicki's one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! She's so nice she will take time out of her day to give you a ride at an obscene hour to a place completely out of the way and across state lines!! (I know this because she did!!! She gave me a ride to Staten Island at Midnight so I can report for military duty.)

So here it is,

I am so proud of this one because I feel like I was able to focus deeper on it.   With my little HB away with her Dad, I didn't have to make sure she wasn't running off with a pincushion full of pins or worse!!!

I also decided to keep the corners square on this one....not only is it neater looking...its EASIER!!!

Don't get me wrong I love the curved corners, but I need more practice!

This is one of my favorite parts about this lol...I love the pearl snap...makes it "official".

Although this was a custom design for her daughter, the design of this style of clutch was inspired by all the crazy flights I have had to take in the military.

Flying does nothing for me lol. And I hate risking my makeup bag in carry-on! I feel like they are going to make me dump all that pricey stuff to get past security!

So, I figured, I need something small and attractive, something that will fit the bare minimum so that I can not only feel refreshed but LOOK refreshed as well! ALSO it had to be in something cute...not just some clear vinyl bag....oh no thats just too easy for me!!

So I had to decide, what do I wish to have when I am flying and need to touch up?
Here they are:

Facial Wipes:
I have dry skin and flying doesn't help it, these are my must-haves!!! I love the way they lather up AND they take off your  makeup too!! It's the only thing that effectively, removes my makeup, cleans, and hydrates my skin.....so I would tuck one or two of these into the big pocket probably behind my compact.

Mascara:
Im a light brunette that gets blondie sunkisses in her hair, well....not right now but my eyelashes; as sparse as they are lighten up to a blonde at the tips from sun exposure. Mascara is a number one for me because it makes my lashes appear longer AND helps with making me look AWAKE! Despite the 4 hour flight with 3 hour layover after being on standby for 6!

I am a classic girl, and I have tried other lines but I always come back to this one!

Lip Gloss:
Pucker Up ladies!!! I always love to complete the look with glossy lips :) Makes me feel done up! These are my favorites. They are clear or tinted so its a nice hint of color! Plus I love the minty freshness!! It's an added bonus!!

I may or may not carry a small all in one compact (blush/eyshadow) and there is room for a small eyeshadow brush as well in the wallet. It's really convenient when needing to look as best as possible in short notice!

I didn't have a makeup/eyshadow brush on hand so I figured a pen might be useful too!!! Just stick a stack of post-its behind the blush and you are good to go!!

Now since it is also made for a teenager I made sure it was good for double duty, knowing at that age girls are extremely shy and discreet especially when it comes to a young girl's cycle!

So I also made sure the pockets were sized right to fight several pads in the large pocket and tampons in the slim pockets, because there is nothing more embarrassing than those things falling out of a purse for a teenage girl!
The clutch is a nice way of keep them from floating around loose in the purse, and the great thing about it is so cute of a wallet, that it can be carried around on its own :)

So yes, needless to say I am truly proud of this creation! It took quite a while for someone of my skill level to put what I had in mind into reality, I hope she loves it!! I am glad to make it for the daughter of such a nice person :)

What do you guys think?? Do you have something similar to this? Have you ever had a vision for something you knew would be useful that you just HAD to manifest it??

I guess I am just soo glad that this one was just sooo much FUN to make!! :)

Partying up at these Linky Parties!! Say Hi to these cool ladies!!

From Boppy BOOO to BOPPY RAWR baby! :)

My Boppy Cover KNOCKOFF!!!

SO, I realize that I should make much more of a commitment to this blog :( and I don't. SHAME ON ME.....Hopefully today should end that.  Thanks to THIS BLOG I have been encouraged to make a post simply to show and tell :)

So today I have decided to share my beginners skills on a boppy (nursing/baby) pillow cover! :)
Let me just tell you how awesome boppys are!

~It's great from day one, I had mine at the hospital to nurse my itty bitty when she was born!
Wait, thats not me!
NOOO!!

Even as our LO got older, it remained a part of our daily lives!

Unfortunately, so did the slipcover.....

which is in EVERY picture! Its not ugly but it gets old really fast! What can I say, I finally found the time to make a change!

I took inspiration from a blanket that my daughter has which is has a minkee(sp?) brown fabric on one side with a pink shaggy fabric on the other bordered with a fleece leopard print...so cute and luxurious! lol!

The effect of its LUXURY! lol

So I went out for this project and as a beginner I decided to keep it simple! I found this pattern on sale at Joann's.  And I purchased the materials required at Wal-Mart.  Then I finally took the time to complete my project following the directions on the pattern.

Boring ol' Boppy without the cover.
RAWR!
The snazzy velcro enclosure!

This particular pattern calls for the envelop style where the pillow is stuffed and I do mean STUFFED into the slip where one piece overlaps the other.  There is black piping along the edges and it is sealed closed with velcro.

So there you have it. It goes in with her safari theme, but adds a bit more girly flare (IS IT ENOUGH PINK FOR YOU? LOL)

Maybe I will update this soon with her in it, she's a lounger and a big reader (well picture looker at'er anyway) so hopefully I can catch her in it again with the new cover :)

I am also planning to make another one tailored for a good friend's baby boy who has yet to arrive! :)

So what do you guys think? I would love to hear your opinions and constructive criticism and I hope to do (and share) more of these projects! :) Thanks for reading!!!!

Show and Tell Green

And thank you to Blue Cricket Design for allowing me to show and tell today! <3<3<3<3

**Now the only downside was the pillow seemed to be too small for the finished product, so either my pattern cutting abilities are lacking or my boppy is worn in a bit. Next time I think I will trace the pillow into the fabric.  Which also reminds me that I prefer the zipper enclosure of the other cover.  While inserting a zipper may prove to be more difficult, in the long run it will be easier to put on and remove the cover.**
